The pancreas is an abdominal organ with digestive and endocrine functions. Endocrine cell groups called Langerhans islets in the pancreas produce insulin and glucagon, two key hormones that control blood sugar levels. This short movie demonstrates the three-dimensional distribution of Langerhans islets as well as the complex sympathetic (noradrenergic) innervation of the mouse pancreas.
