Adrenergic, noradrenergic and dopaminergic (altogether called: catecholaminergic) neurons are involved in multiple physiological functions and pathological conditions, including arousal/sleep regulation, selective attention, motivation, anxiety, emotional learning, food intake, motor functions, addiction, reward, regulation of diurnal cycle etc. These movies reveal the anatomical localization of catecholaminergic cell populations in the entire mouse brain and show some dopaminergic nuclei with higher resolution, all in three-dimension.
