Substantia nigra is a bilateral dopaminergic nucleus in the midbrain, involved in motor regulation and reward functions. This tiny pigmented nucleus is especially affected in Parkinson’s disease. This movie shows the 3D rendering of dopaminergic neurons in the human substantia nigra.
