In this collaborative project, Kaiwen Zhang from the laboratory of Saida Hadjab, Department of Neuroscience, Karolinska Institute, investigates the development of the spinal sensory nerves. I contribute to this project by performing light sheet fluorescence microscopy and 3D image reconstruction of late mouse embryos with whole mount volume immunostaining.

Light sheet fluorescence microscopy and 3D image reconstruction of the primary sensory nerve system in the spinal cord – dorsal root ganglia region from a reporter mouse-line embryo. A transcription factor and a transmembrane receptor are visualized. Both molecules are specifically expressed in the sensory nerve system. Whole mount staining: Kaiwen Zhang (Saida Hadjab lab).
